us in our endeavors.

We would like to say a special word of thanks to Sylvia and Isaac Sheena who were of wholehearted assistance to the Midrash in Great Neck and to Hillel Shohet whose dedication and assistance was a major factor in bringing Midrash BEN ISH HAI’s weekly prayer services  in Great Neck to fruition.

Activities are being provided for people of all ages. Among our various activities is a new series of lectures for young single adults, organized by Lisa Sheena.

The first one held at the Inn at Great Neck was a highly successful event, attracting many young singles from varied backgrounds from throughout the tri-state area.

Catering by Aodi Zilkha was (literally) the icing on the cake!

Classes and gatherings are being given for adults. Play and learn parties are held periodically for young children.

One of the Midrash’s strengths is , of course, the knowledge of, and the commitment to, our true and authentic heritage by Hakham Ya’aqob Menashe.  It is rare to find one such as the Hakham who is so committed to preserving our  heritage in every detail.

One way in which proof of this manifested itself was the the number of classes held in different locations to teach the Haggadah with not only the original tunes, but also a firm emphasis on our authentic pronunciation.

The Hakham held several series of classes. One series for teenagers in Queens and another for young pre-teen boys. In Great Neck, a series of classes was held for families.

Our special thanks go out to Mr. Naim Dangoor who sent copies of his famous Haggadah to us, post haste, which were used by all!
