Great Neck Update

A Series of Gatherings

As part of its commitment to the Great Neck/Long Island area, Midrash BEN ISH HAI is moving full steam ahead with its programs for the community. We have been holding very successful gatherings in the homes of friends who have given us a truly warm welcome.
 
Class for Kids and Parents 
A children’s “fun and learn” party at Edna and Samir Kamara’s home. 
 
To date, classes have been held (sometimes on more than one occasion) at the homes of Sylvia & Isaac Sheena, Thelma & Emile Kattan, Edna & Samir Kamara, Ravit & Robert Kraus. Thank you all for opening your homes to us.
 
 
Class for adults 
A gathering for adults at the home of Sylvia and Isaac Sheena. 
 

Authentic Babylonian Services

On Rosh Hashana and Yom Kippur, the Midrash kept its pledge to its supporters and held services at the Inn at Great Neck. They were in accordance with the authentic Babylonian tradition and inspired the congregation. We had no way of anticipating the interest and success that these services would generate. Our thanks to the Inn, who at the last minute scrambled to provide additional space. 
We are as excited as the area residents about the imminent opening of a second Midrash BEN ISH HAI in Great Neck, and the planned transfer there of the Midrash High School.
