What exactly are these differences (any example would be great) that existed between the "Babylonian rite" that the Sephardim preserved and the non-Bablyonian rite that the the Ashkenazim embraced.

What was the "alternative" that the Ashkenazim adapted that made them
different from this "Babylonian" rite? What were the differing principles of halacha?

Can you give me an example of this? it is very hard for me to find it myself.
