The custom of eating dairy foods is only in the morning (i.e. lunch). On both nights we have a regular meat meal.

dear Morris
first Ta'am (reason) for eating dairy foods is because it is Hag Mattan Tora and about the Tora the Pasuk says: Devash Vehalav Tahat Leshoneck.
second Ta'am is because after the people of Israel received the Tora at Har Sinai they were hungry but they didn't have a kosher Kelim (to cook in it) until they make Hag'ala and Tevila to their Kelim, so they could eat only diary food.
